I'm looking to purchase a new work keyboard for coding/development with some minimal gaming. They keyboard will be used with my laptop and therefore no ps2 jack is available.

Some of the features I am looking for are:
    QWERTY Layout
    Cherry MX Brown switches
    Illuminated
    Integral numeric (10 key) keypad
High quality permanent printing (laser, dye sub, etc.)
    USB interface
removable USB chord would be nice, if the jack is durable
    $150 max
No nasty sharp edges in the wrist area
    Media buttons would be nice

    Thoughts anyone????

I think the Razer Stealth Ultimate fits most of that. I can not recommend it though of all the mechanical keyboards I have used the Razer by far was the worst build quality, its also larger so it would be a pain to pack in a bag w/ a laptop.

If you give up illumination you open the door for many more high quality keyboards, as a coder you should be more than well able to type without looking and have no need to backlighting and its not good for you to work in the dark anyways.

If it's backlit you'll get painted keys.

As Vicious said, the Black Widow Ultimate Stealth is pretty much the only option available to you and build quality is ok (nothing to write home about really) on mine. I don't have the problems Vicious had on his Black Widow, but my CM Storm and Mionix mechs have way better build quality.

As said, give up lighted keys. The only illuminated keys with dye sub laminate is a deck. That I know of

I've had a toxic green deck, filco and currently using a rosewill. All black cherries and the non lighted filco and rosewill are absolute joys. Rosewill is cheap and I soldered my usb cord on - huge issues with the mini usb connector getting loose.

If you must have lighted keys, the ultimate razor. Have a coworker with one of those and personally I hate it

I think Ducky Year of the Dragon should be able to fit everything you need, including removable cable, and LED. But it's pretty hard to find now as it's a limited edition.
