So I have a dv5t on order (P8400, Geforce 9600M GT, 4 gb ram, 250 gb hd) and I want to order a cooler before it comes in. I have narrowed down my choices to these 3:

    1) Coolermaster Notepal Infinite

    2) NZXT Cryo LX

    3) Enermax Aeolus CP001

    Any suggestions?

+1 for CM, out of those three it would easily be most logical

So you would recommend the Notepal Infinite Cooler for the Hp DV5T over the others?? I can't seem to find a review on the Notepal Infinite and the DV5T :(. I've read here that the Notepal Infinite sucks air from the back - the dv5t has an exhaust vent on the upper left and back left corner. Since the Notepal takes in air from the back won't it just circulate the hot air from the exhaust vents?. Anyone with a Notepal Infinite share their experiences with the cooler? Hope you guys can help, I'm torn between the Notepal Infinite and the Zalman NC1000/NC2000 for my laptop

Read X2P's cooler guide. There are a few reviews there of the CM.

Johhny T has a review here

Thanks for your reply but the laptop used in that review is not the DV5t.

Get the Notepal. I use one with a Dell XPS M1710 17", that throws a lot of heat. The face of the Notepal is aluminum and the fan blows air up through the screen to the bottom of the laptop. That and the fact that the aluminum acts as a heatsink, keeps my rig very nicely cool.

The only drawback (minor) is the hard plastic bottom while it sits on my legs. I am getting a sheet of neoprene and will use spray adhesive on the bottom to affix the neoprene for more comfort.

Thanks for the review, good to hear the notepal blows air up, does it reach the the top left as this area produces the most heat on the DV5T. I'm leaning more towards the notepal, also it is considerably cheaper than the Zalman (Zalman is $94 Delivered and Notepal is $38 Delivered) Anyone with a DV5T used the notepal - care to share their experiences. Thanks :)

When you refer to the 'top left', if you are thinking about the far left corner of the bottom of the notebook, then yes the air will be blowing on that area.

I tried a number of coolers and ideas, the CM works the best for me.

Awesome, thanks for your reply, If the notepal reaches the far left bottom then it seems a better choice for the dv5t, as with the Zalman I have to move the notebook down 3 inches. Thanks again.

hello!!! I would like to ask you techie guys which notebook cooling fan is better:
    1. The one that SUCKS THE HOT AIR OUT OF THE NOTEBOOK?
    2. Or the one that BLOWS COOL AIR INTO THE NOTEBOOK?
And lastly: Will installing a notebook cooler using the usb socket diminish the life of my notebook? I was hoping to buy a cooler that has an OUTLET SOCKET instead of a USB SOCKET, but most coolers I check in the market only comes with a USB SOCKET... But I was able to find an adaptor that has a USB INPUT SOCKET AND AN OUTPUT OUTLET SOCKET... Thanks and more power!!

Hey, my notepal infinite just arrived, I did a stress test using FurMark and the notepal dropped gpu temps by around 6 - 7C and the CPU temps 4-5C. However, I noticed that while use the notepal infinite on the highest fan, it was noisy - which was ok, but it vibrates the desk and laptop :( which is annoying when playing games :/. Anyone else experience this problem? does the zalman have the same problem when on highest fan speed?

Use rubber feet or a rubber mat to absorb the vibrations,

The notepal already has rubber feat, and the laptop also has rubber feet?
