I would recommend using a can of air. Grab a toothpick and stick in between fan blades so that the fan doesn't spin while you're blowing the debris from the cooler. That's really all you can do if you can't open the unit up.

You might try peeling off the rubber feet underneath the unit and seeing if the screws are located there.

Pull the rubber feet off the top. I have the same one. There are four screws, one under each top pad. I unhooked the power input off of the usb hub that goes to the push button switch and wired the fan switch strait to 5v power. Works a ton better now.

Woot! For not owning this unit, it appears as though I was almost spot on with my advice! :D

I feel like an idiot for asking this but...how exactly? I couldn't get them off with nails or a flat screwdriver.

If they aren't peeling off, they might need to be popped off? Try starting at a corner and work your way around the pad.

Ok, one more question. I took the screws off, but the front side with power button and usb ports doesn't open. What am I doing wrong?

edit: never mind. didn't try hard enough.
