Hey guys, I have been reading and studying up on a laptop cooler for my new laptop for quite a while now and I just can't make up my mind, so thought I'd ask here.
I would have the cooler on pretty much as long as the laptop is on. I'd preffer it to be relatively "quiet", I had the HAVIT 3 fan cooler F2056 (I noticed this is probably one of the generic ones you can buy onmass from China, couple of resellers have them, Aukey, TeckNet etc., I don't really have a problem with this) for about a month, it was actually pretty decent, solid air, not totally silent but it wasn't that bad, I returned it as it was causing a bit of vibration (loose bearing?) as well as the fan positioning wasn't optimal. Otherwise the build quality seemed decent and the overall design was to my liking (holes on the side and back but still able to rest it pretty much anywhere with little legs that prop it up at the back a bit), low profile look, simple.
I would obviously like it to last a bit and preferably be portable, good fan positioning. This is the bottom of the laptop H507
    Here's the options I found.

    Cooler Master NotePal U3 PLUS

This seems to be one of the favs. Especially when modded. My issues with it is the slightly larger size, probably wouldn't fit a backpack very easily and the slightly higher price of £33 for a piece of metal that is suggested to be addd with another £47 worth of mods. I do like that you can easily position the fans and have an open access to them though.

    Cooler Master Ergostand III
I quite like the design of this, the fan is accessible and seems to give pretty good cooling. The price is too much though, around £60 as it seems to be in short supply here in the UK. I am not sure if this is a rip-off or just an older model rebranded? but I found this one for fraction of the price.

    Vanble Chillmat
Alright positioning, 4 bigger fans, low profile, slightly more expensive at £27.

    KLIM Chillmat
Another four fan one, much cheaper around £13-16

    Zalman ZM-NS2000
One big fan, Zalman seems to be favourable around here too. Not sure if it's servicable? £30

    Deepcool Multi Core X6
Pretty nice looking, alright positioning, £20

5Fan Variants similar to this one

    Ranges between £15-27

    Thanks in advance!

I'm rocking a Zalman right now and it's working pretty well for me. (And I'm probably the third or fourth user of this one, so they last a long time). Anything that brand has my vote.

Thanks Tanner. Still didn't get anything in the end. There was a pretty sweet deal on the Zalman NS2000, but I heard people complaining about the USB and it scared me off a bit (plus you have to take up another USB port just for the USBs to work).
So far I got my laptop propped up with some Vogue folded pages, it's about a 1cm up at the back. I do notice the temps "spiking" a bit more. not as constant and sometimes it goes up around 3 degrees higher than it normally would with the 3fan Havit and that was with the fans pointing at the battery, HDD and then one pointing at a higher middle part, so not directly at the CPU or GPU. Think I will either wait and see if there will be a reasonable deal on the Ergostand or bite the bullet and get the U2/3. I just wish it was a little bit more foldable...

Mine's an older version, the NC2000, takes up a USB port but I don't really mind, it does its job quietly and with no fuss.
