I currently have a Kensington Contour backpack which I purchased back in August 2006. I've used it heavily during the past year inserting various sizes of books, binders, my notebook computers, etc... and its all worn out now. Stitches are coming off, zippers are malfunctioning, etc... I'm looking for a replacement backpack similar to the Contour. A backpack that is strong, durable, contains lots of options and basically a backpack that will last me a year. I go through notebook backpacks once a year. Anybody with any recommendations to offer that would be great!! The only preference i have is that (if possible) shipping be available to Canada, and the price be around $90-110CDN. Thanks in advance.

Kensington is garbage, as you've discovered. Some high quality brands include Victorinox, Incase, and Ogio.

Wasn't me - check the top of this thread. His backpack, just ONE year old, is completely falling apart with broken seams, broken zippers, etc. Any backpack that doesn't even last 12 months is garbage.

I got the Dakine Duel, it was 79.99 at Sport Mart. I was also looking at the Campus too but I decided against it because it only has a thin sleeve in the backpack, and there was no strap to hold the laptop in, so it could slip towards the top of the backpack. I liked the Duel because it has a separate side access compartment for the laptop.

I don't know about quality, but Targus is well known for manufacturing notebook bags, which might make you a victim of theft, because some hoodlum might assume that you have a notebook just because you have a Targus.

However, seeing as though you're from Belgium, things might be different. Perhaps Targus isn't so well known over there.

hmm, i see, thanks for your reply. to be honest, i never heard of targus before... so you might be right about targus not so being well known over here.

Maybe STM bags would be good too for your purposes.

Or a booq python or boa... but these are more expensive. Thing is, the booq python from what I have read/heard can carry a ton of things.
