Hey well I just got my new 17in dv9000 series laptop and have been looking for some things to take with me to college, here is the breakdown:

    1. BAG-messenger or backpack don't care just want something that will be able to hold my laptop, brick, mouse and maybe a notebook and a textbook.

Here are three options I have any other more than accepted.

    Option 1

    Option 2

    Option 3

    2. cooling/Dock Station- this is where i get kind of blurry, I was looking at a way to use my own keyboard and mouse when using the laptop yet i do not want to be so far form the laptop. Also I want to be able to keep it cool and not go to hot when I am playing games or leave it on for hours at a time. I have been having problems in this area since I have not been able to find a good balance or a way to get both. I then thought if I get a dock station it will be elevated and the intake fan in the bottom of the laptop will be open thus reduce heat. This is my choice for dock station either the usb version or non usb version not sure yet since I already have a 7port d link usb hub.

I think since I have a wide screen laptop it will extend on the sides thus leaving the intake vent open in the bottom of the laptop. Any ideas would be great. I really don't want to spend a ton of money on this since I am going to college and I am spending a lot of money on other things. Plus I just got a nice 27in LCD TV lol now im broke.

Any ideas would be great thanx in advance

I can't offer advice on the dock, but Option 3 for the bags seems to be the roomiest. If you want to carry a notebook and textbook along with your laptop, I don't think the first two would work.

I wanted to stick to one of these bags or in that price range for the bags since I want to buy a booq later on.

let me just tell you that putting 10+ lbs or more in a messenger style bag (across your shoulder) is a pain in the butt to carry around for long periods of time.

regardless of how built you are, it puts a strain like directly on the collar bone.

i recommend getting a backpack to support all your stuff if its going to be a heavy load.

Yeah I know what you mean thats why I want to get the Booq Boa, but I wont be able to afford that for a bit really expensive, even though I am going to try and get it. But for now I haven't found a nice backpack that I liked that I know will fit my 17in wide screen laptop. If you can recommend one I will greatly appreciate it. I was actually thinking of getting the small case logic case since it is very protective to laptop. I was just going to use this for my laptop since I will live on campus and I can use my backpack for my books. Then Ill get the Booq hopefully by christmas.
