The 4000 is obviously heftier, and the only other obvious difference is the "bluetrack technology", it also has an extra mouse button on the side.
I've used the M305 for the past few years and it has always been very comfortable, with a very good battery life, but I recently wrecked the USB dongle when I dropped my computer on it's side.
Can anybody tell me if the MS 4000 would be worth getting over the M305? Is the bluetrack tech really worth anything to the average consumer?

Had my m305 for almost a year. Bought it for 26 bucks and works great. Nothing fancy. I replace the battery about once a month as i game alot.

Depends on the surface you "track" on. Bluetrack works on glass and highly reflective surfaces... so for some users, its a must.

You can always buy another Logitech M305. The M305 was being sold at my local Office Depot, Sam's Club, and Best Buy for $14.99. I'm not exactly sure if it's still the same price right now. The price tends to fluctuate each month.
I'm still using mine for my laptop.
