I am not a big fan of dropping by my computer store to pick up stuff because where I live requires a 1/2 hour drive minimum to get to any shop. So I am a big fan of ordering on-line.

I am about to start a maintence routine of air-blasting the vents on my 2 new laptops with compressed air. I have never done this before and I don't know how much is in a can.

I found this, but the minimum is a 12-can case of 10 oz cans. I have no idea how long that will last me. I live in a higher-than-average dusty/linty environment so my plan is to blast the laptops every couple of weeks or so.

How long should a 10 oz can last? Do they go "bad after a period of time. Would a case of 12 last me a year? Would the air still be in the can with the proper pressure... I am a totally newbie at this.

    TIA :)

I have no idea how long the cans will last you, but keep in mind that with every use of the pressurized air, the internal pressure of the can falls, which eventually render it unusable (even before the can is out of air)

You don't need to go to computer shops to get it; they also sell it at wal-mart, gamestop, ebgames, and thats all l know of but there are more.

i have that size. i've used 1 can about 3 times to blow the dust out and from the weight of it, i think i can get maybe 2 or 3 more uses out it.

I use digital innovations (available here at staples) I also find them at FYE for the same price (I like that cleaning brush tip :))

I clean once every couple of weeks. The pack of 2 lasts me 3-4 months at best, and my laptop has 2 sinks and fans to clean.

The deal you found is pretty good BTW, compared to how much I pay, although I do sometimes use coupns at staples to get them a bit cheaper!

One can lasts me about 2 months, though I only use once a week under the keyboard, then at the fan.

Unfortunately where I live, the walmart and other stores are even further away. There isn't even a supermarket within 20 minutes drive. :(

Thanks everybody for the feedback! I think I won't order the case and try the one qwester sugests and see how that goes.

HOW do you clean your laptop with compressed air? Sorry, that probably sounded like a totally retarded question, but do you open up your laptop from the bottom? or do you simply blow it into the vents? eh...=/...

Simply blow it into the vents when I clean my laptop.

    i do both.

i'll just hit the vents, but about every 3rd time, i'll open it up and get the inside as well.

I buy from Costco. 5 cans at 12 oz each for 9.99. BEST DEAL imo
Look for them by DVDR and cdr discs area.

10 dollars for 60 oz of compressed air. Better than the price on the list you found.

I vote for Costco as well (if you're near one). In Canada, it's under $15 CDN for four, 12 oz cans.

One can usually lasts me a few months. I usually blast the keyboard for dust and whatever gets in between the keys. I also use the cans to blow out the crud in my desktop that gets a lot of dust.
