    Hey everybody.

    Here's the deal.

I have an Asus G50VT-X1 on the way :D, with the following outputs connections.

    Nvidia Geforce 9800GS 512MB DDR3
    1x Vga output
    1x Hdmi output

On the other hand or better say shelf, it's too heavy :p , I have a Toshiba 32" CRT TV with the following inputs.

    1x Colorstream component input.
    1x S-Video input.
    1x Front AV input
    1x Back AV input.

So can you guys please recommend the easiest cheapest way to connect both?

I would like to be able to watch movies and game on it, although it doesn't offer the best resolution, but for nostalgia reason of gaming on a tv.

    Thanks.

You could get a new T.V. altogether :D. I agree with the VGA to RCA adapter. It'll cost about $20.

    Guys are you sure.

It says that my video card must support tv out from the vga port, does the mobile 9800gs support that?

If you have vga you undoubtably can connect it to an external peripheral, that is what its made for. See usually you would just connect your vga to another monitor so you could either A) play solely on that monitor or B) use the second monitor as an extended work surface. So you are basically using the TV as a second monitor, and so you can do either A or B with it. I guarentee you this is possible. The entire setup can be bought at radioshack or fry's for like 20-30 bucks total. The 9800M GS is a great card, very powerful so you will get a lot of work out of it. The only problem like you mentioned above is the resolution, which won't be great, not in the slightest. Because I've hooked my computer to my 32' crt and I know seeing text and other stuff really is weak in comparison.

    Thanks for the info.

I already ordered the cable, it's cheap enough to try.

Will post my results when it arrives and I do some tests.
