Via UB or PCMCIA? Which way is the best?
Can anyone recomend any devices? I have seen a few reviews on Newegg and other sites, but a good deal of them say that the power supply for the hard drive molex burns out the hard drive.
So I would like to avoid that problem and get a adapter that will just work.
Thanks

Why not get a case with its own power supply.

I agree, that's the most hassle free way to go.

Because I want something small that will fit inside of my laptop bag. I think an external enclosure would work, but it would be an annoyance. Also I'm looking at a fast way to test multiple drives. So I have no need for a bay and that is slower than methods that don’t involve a bay to mount the drive in.

I think the only way your gonna have to is use an external enclosure and no matter how many of the reviews say how small a 3.5" enclosure is, they aren't that portable. Trust me I have a few of the smallest 3.5" enclosures, I have two a bytecc and a mapower both are pretty compact for what it holds, but they aren't small by any standards and both are a slight hassle to change hard drives. I have never used the screwless ones, but I guess you could give them a shot, but I have to warn you that I have not seen any of the screwless ones updated to the new chipsets, so they may or may not support hard drives over 300 gb, most definitely they won't but if you order from a place like newegg you could return it minus a restocking fee.
Connecting 3.5" Hard Drives to notebook?
