Hello people,
I used to game on PS2 for NFS carbon. And HP on Xbox 360 controller on Windows from my experience I felt the PS controller was fine but the Analog stick placement was better done by M$...Now that we may have both progressed and regressed on both XB, PS controllers and XB1 controller supports directly on Windows 7 and up while PS4's DS4 needs the DS4Windows app, though the DS4 kinda looks cool with that touch pad, LED and fully customizable software but 3rd party.
Next is how would the new controllers fare in terms of comfort and the features, both software and hardware wise like for eg : XB1 can have replaceable battery by user while DS4 needs opening...
Please chime in your thoughts and share personal experiences, that could help choosing a better one...
I feel I should get a DS4 because of the customizability but worried about the game support, no idea how the DS4Windows works, will give a read now...
Thanks.

I hate the thumbstick placement of the DualShock, so I use the Xbox One controller. Works great with the wireless adapter.

+1, never liked the Sony controllers. I love the Xbox controller.

I guess the XB1 controller needs a wireless adapter for extra bucks and only Win10, If it's that windows10 then I'll go for DS4.

The XB1 wireless adapter works with Windows 7 and 8.1. It didn't used to but MS released drivers for it.

Am I the only guy here who must have symmetric placement of the analogy sticks on a controller... I'm using the two simultaneously in most genres and the XB placement really confuse me.

Oh and btw DS4 uses Xbox 360 Emulation over BT, the XB1 requires wired connection for PC and Needs Win10 only for driver plus have to pay extra ~25$ for wireless adapter. 360 D pad is fugly, So I'm left with DS4, I'll pass the XB1 for now.....Thank you guys for chiming in !

Definitely stick with XBox 360 / One controller, for the simple reason that there is native driver support (and doesn't require 3rd party support like PS4 controllers). Extra points for getting the XBox One Elite controller, which has some very nice weighting & materials to it.

Personally, I'm not a fan of Bluetooth controllers, at least not for Windows because the underlying hardware tends to be unreliable. At least with the Xbox controller, I am basically guaranteed to have it work straight away.Ashtrix likes this. -
Do someone use the ps4 controller on their xps 15 bis Bluetooth? I'd it possible without a problem?

I'd still recommend ds3 with scp though -
Btw... In regards to PlayStation controller....
I heard that along with PlayStation 4 streaming to computers, Sony also released official drivers for controller support. That means you won't be dependent on 3rd party apps / drivers / controller mapping if you choose PlayStation controllers for PC gaming use.

Love the Xbox 360 controller, and am deeply considering moving to the Xbox One controller for the haptic feedback on the triggers.
Did the PS3 controller thing for a while, it was fine. I still felt the Xbox controllers had better comfort.
Either way, Xbox is what I would opt for. -
I got the DS4 from Amazon the DS4, and Crap ! The analog stick was broken, sounding different to the L analog stick, This is my last purchase from Amazon, I'm never buying any electronics from that crapazon, I had so many RMAs done, 3 nexus 6's, one DS4 and an Avior 7000 all had flaws.
I'm pausing this purchase for now.. -
the controller should be returnable, just claim it to be faulty and you're good to go -
