I didn't see a thread about these yet so I figured I'd make one. I saw these feet at ThinkGeek and they look really cool so I was wondering if anyone has tried them out.

I may check out the coolballs. What size should I get? It doesn't list size, only PN and a price difference.

Ooh, what's this laptop from the eBay listing? Looks like a HP?

On topic: I probably can't use the Protable Leg Stand because my laptop's got the headphone jack on the front edge.

Id not use those feet on ebay, that leverage on my laptop would bother me and I would question stability.

The coolballs are great, for the price cant complain. Not sure how 4 of them will work, its intended to only go on the back side to lift up the laptop for better cooling but also for better ergonomics.

I used them on the W90 for the ergonomics reasons not for better cooling. The laptop I had before I always used ontop of my zalman cooling pad so I was used to having that tilt for typing. When I got the W90 I sold the old laptop & the cooling pad (since it was too small for the 18.4" monster W90) and needed that tilt back, so instead of investing in some huge expensive bulky cooling pad I just got those coolballs and was incredibly glad I did as it did everything the cooling pad did for me but for like $2.00 and no sacrifice in bag space and extra weight to carry around.

Looks like an older model from the HP business range. Perhaps a highend 14.1'' model.

my coolballs should be coming some time at the end of this week, so i hope they work. i was thinkin about adding something like this laptop lift along with my coolballs to get even better cooling. plus i'd rather have my laptop, physically, lifted off the table and not directly on it. it's just better for different table surfaces, and it preserves the laptops underside.

I ordered some of those cool balls. I missed on the .39 deal yesterday, but at 3.29 for two pairs I figured it was worth a try.

I wouldn't use any of those! Firs of all, all of these need to be carried around... I don't really have space for 2 balls in my backpack or notebook sleeve.

Second - It for sure wouldn't be stable like that on my lap

Third - it probably isn't comfortable on your knees

    4th - I wouldn't stick sh*t like that on my precious Vaio :D

5th - I'd rather use a laptop stand instead when using on a table...

    and many others

It is just useless if you ask me. What is much more useful if your notebook gets so warm that it is uncomfortable - a cooling pad - you can carry it around in any sleeve or backpack - it doesn't take so much space as 2 balls. You just put it between your lap and the notebook and it is as stable as before, just cooler for you and the notebook.

1 - how could u not have enough room for a tiny little ball, that's only about an inch in diameter? it's actually 1 ball that u can take apart to make 2 parts. place each piece on opposite sides to get the cooling effects.

2 - why wouldn't it be stable? the placement is totally custom, and totally up to u.

3 - i'd probably prefer using my laptop on my lap WITH the balls. don't quote me on that yet though. i hate the feeling of the laptop's feet digging into u after long uses, and not to mention the heat.

    4 - i believe it's attached by velcro.

5 - for me, this is a portable solution so that i don't have to haul a big cooler around. i already have the best cooler on the market when i'm using my laptop at my desk. when i'm on the move i prefer something a little more portable. i used to take my targus x-stand with me but i gave that to a friend, so now i'm testing out a few other solutions to see which works best for me.

To be honest - I already have the best solution as well - a laptop that doesn't get hot :))

But even if it did get hot - I find it unpractical... sorry. Would prefer a cooling pad for mobility use.

hey, whatever works for u buddy. ;)

i honestly wouldn't recommend those "cooling pads" to anyone. they're basically a big, glorified mouse pad, that sometimes causes more harm then good. @ home: i have my beastly cryo LX. on the move: i prefer something quick, portable, and effective. a versatile cooling solution is very vital sometimes when u have a LAN/gaming party cuz there will be space issues at times.
