    Hey guys,

I've been recently scouting for a good notebook cooler for my Dell XPS M1530. Some of my priorities in looking for a cooler are its cooling capabilities, and also its USB ports. I stumbled upon the new version of the Notepal Infinite, Notepal Infinite (4 Port USB 2.0 Hub) and it looks like it could do the job.

    Just a few questions:

    1. Does the Notepal Infinite fit the XPS M1530 like a glove? Like, will the notebook hang off a bit on the edges?

    2. For the Notepal Infinite 4 Port USB Hub, are those USB hubs high-powered? Can they power my external HD, Logitech V450, or connect to my printer?

-I was wondering how all 4 ports could be powered since the cooler relies solely on USB power from the notebook.

    3. Is it wiser to get the normal Notepal Infinite without the 4 port USB hubs?

Any suggestions would be appreciated, especially from Notepal or XPS users. Thanks!

There is the Cryo LX S which essentially is a mini version of the Cryo LX that caters for 15" notebooks and comes equipped with 2x 120mm fans + USB2.0 hub IIRC.

the usb hubs probably will not be able to power high-powered accessories because as you stated, it is drawing power via a usb port on its own. (it should be able to power some stuff, such as mouse, usb keyboard, printer maybe) but not usb hard drives. flash drives are a possibility but i am not sure (i have the notepal infinite w/o the usb hub)

i previously used the notepal infinite w/ the asus g1s and the g1s fit on the infinite with about 1/4" clearance on all four sides. the four rubber feet on the bottom of the laptop just matched up w/ the rubber feet on the cooler. check the dimensions of the g1s w/ your m1530 and that can give you an estimate of how much room you'll have.

Thanks for the suggestion. But the Cryo S's hub is not high-powered as well.

Thanks ktang. Since you have used the Notepal Infinite (without the 4 USB Hub), do you think it would work with my Logitech V450 wireless mouse just fine, without any lag? I might just end up getting the normal Notepal Infinite since the extra 4 ports would be useless for me, but I really need a spare USB for my mouse. I've heard though that the Zalman NC2000 sometimes lags on its spare USB port. I wouldn't want that to happen if I purchased the Notepal.

Also, can I power the Notepal via USB-AC Adapter? I have an American adapter that's 100-240VAC, 50/60Hz Input, and 5V/500ma Output. Can I power the notepal from there, instead of my notebook?

you can do the same with the Cryo LX. I'm pumping 12v through it although i dont dare connect anything USB related to it or the device in question will fry from the 12v.

Presumably, the Cryo LX S can be powered via AC adapter like its bigger cousin.

have you tried posing your questions in the notepal infinite thread? they may be able to give you more responses about the notepal infinite and which to go for. truthfully, i never used the other ports on the usb hub, as i bought a belkin 7-port hub which i use.
