My laptop (MSI GX630-028US) doesn't have any vents under it with fans. Just a single side vent. It does have 3 small "grills" scattered at the bottom for some ventilation though. Would it be worth buying a laptop cooler in this situation?

If not, I'm thinking of buying an Evercool NB-MA1 for my my side vent. How would that perform?

Is your laptop overheating? If so maybe a laptop cooler would work. In my opinion (take it from it what you will) Laptop coolers are junk that the industry is trying to tell us we "need" just like when you are a kid and "need" that new 2000X MCT mini car racer for christmas, my mom didn't love me enough :( lol

Both the CPU and GPU tend to hover around 80c while gaming. Would like to have it lower.

I read a few reviews here of that zalman cooler, which made about a 10c difference at times. I wouldn't consider anything that lowers the temp at least 5c as junk. Lower temp means the longer the laptop will last. Definitely a worthwhile investment. I'm afraid it'll be a waste in my laptop though due to the way it's built. I don't think laptop coolers are usually returnable.

I got the Belkin F5L001 from Frys for only 8$, and right now the only thing I am using it is as a book stand since it simply not good at lowing my MB's temperature. I guess you may want to avoid this one, and get a more effective one....Oh and also pay attention to how much noise the cooler makes, coz this Belkin only has one fan but the noise it makes is pretty noticeable and a bit distracting. So I would suggest only get a cooler if you really need to lower the temperature in summer.
