Hello, I want a cooler for my acer 5920g and after reading the reviews and doing a little research I decided for either a Zalman NC2000 or the Coolermaster notepal infinite.

Now, I'm inclined for the Zalman NC2000 because it seems to be quite preferred and because of X2P's nice review. But, I don't know if it's the right cooler for my notebook.
The 5920 intakes air from the bottom and exhaust the air from the sides at the top left corner ( back and side) and this is where it gets hot...very very hot while gaming actually ( the main reason for getting a cooler).

And this is where my confusion lies with the NC2000. It does not appear to have sufficient vent holes at the top where my notebook is supposed to be positioned and where it gets most heated. Am I correct with this?

    Thanks for any reply

Yup you are correct. The Infinite does cover the top areas better, but then again it is noisier and not as well build as the NC1000/2000.

You can always place your notebook a bit forward (hang the laptop's front out) and you'll get max cooling.

The Infinite is more suitable then for my notebook. Shame because I liked the NC2000 better.

Ill take a pic. Thats what I thought ( I can do it with my Gfs notebook but with the 1000). You just sit it to the front more and itll hit.

But then the notebook would hang out. It wouldn't look nice or be stable, right?

I was thinking of puncturing some holes where it's needed. Do you think that would work without messing up the air flow or anything (wires, fans)?

I really prefer this to the Infinite... :)

Dont punch more holes. Your notebook sitting at the bottom of the cooler as in on the edge bottom then your intake will be covered. or if you think that woould be "ugly" just turn the cooler around raise the lower side up (should be the back) and your have holes towards the back. but most people sit their notebooks on the front end of the cooler, the Zalman is deep only for 17 inchers and up.
