    Hi,

    I just got my Studio XPS 1340 (p9600, 4g ddr3, 500g HDD 7200... blablabla)

I am now looking for an efficient cooler that will stay at home

I was wondering if there were any models that could also act as a docking station that could give extra UBS and maybe more cool options

here's a picture to show you where the heat is comming from

NZXT Cryo-LX would actively cool all but that thin vent near the front, but would allow for passive cooling of that vent. Made from all aluminum (with some rubber 'grips' to hold the laptop in place) which aids in cooling.

It is a large cooler that will dwarf your XPS13, however, it allows you to more easily put your cooler in a 'sweet spot' for best cooling. It uses either an external power adapter or 'can' be run from the laptop, but draws a lot of power. It has a USB hub on the back with several expansion slots.

I use one for my XPS M1330 and love it.

NZXT is also coming out with a new Cryo-S model for 15" and smaller laptops. It is basically the same construction, slightly smaller, and uses 2-120mm fans vs. the 3-120mm fans on the Cryo-LX. Not sure where that is being sold yet, however.

Vantec and Zalman make decent notebook coolers. I forget the specific model numbers though.

The Cryo LX is complete overkill for any 13" model. I recommend either the Cryo S or the Zalman NC1000
