Got my xps 1530 a while ago and am now looking for a cooling pad for it. Any suggestions?

Is it best when the cooling pad is made specifically for 15in?

we have a Targus Chill Mat and it's crazy, but turning it on (while it's not quiet, it's not terribly loud) dropped our 5920G from 68C to 52C!!!

TBH, I would only recommend the NC1000 ONLY IF your laptop gets its cooling from the bottom half of the back. The NC1000 only blows to the bottom and if your laptop takes in cooling from the top (like the G1S) it's not very efficient

I'm also planning to get a laptop cooler, and have decided on either getting the Notepal from cool master or Zalman's NC-1000 cooler. I've read somewhere that the zalman is a lot quieter than the notepal, but i'm kind of skeptical on how well the zalman cools compared to the notepal. Maybe someone from the forums could give us some feedback who own one of these laptop coolers? thanks.

i'm searching for something quiet and cools the laptop effectively :D

Where does your laptop intake air? bottom or top half of the back?

I have the Zalman nc-1000 and the newest revision of the Targus chill mat/hub. The Zalman is quieter but the Targus may be louder but reduces the temps more compared to the Zalman.

I have a Targus chill mat for my m1530 and while it is smaller than the base of the laptop, anything bigger isn't necessary. The intake on the xps is under the base. The little fans do a nice job of dropping the temp a bit. It's quiet, very light and has a on/off switch.

I currently use the Notepal on my laptop (Latitude D610). The materials and construction is solid, however, it does not cool my laptop as well as other cooling pads. When gaming (just CS:S for me) it'll drop the temperature from around 62 to 58. I've tried my roommates Antec cooling pad and it worked much better at cooling the laptop. It'll keep the laptop at around 52-54 while gaming, have not had a game crash due to heating issues with this pad. The construction and materials on the Antec aren't as nice as the Notepal though.

    I'm having a bit of a problem...
How would you cool a notebook which already has a docking station, so its lifted up already? I've got a T61P with an advance minidock...

    Any ideas anyone?

didn't you state in your other thread you read that it dropped the temperature? I highly recommend not buying this cooling pad, I bought it and got rid of it ASAP. Zalman NC1000 and the notepal infinite are fairly good pads but I wouldn't expect miracles to happen. These pads cool laptops down but if you factor in room temperature and run time sometimes they do nothing.
