So yeah, I am pretty much just looking for an effective, "non-bulky" cooling pad. It needs to (at least) fit the MSI GS70 Stealth Pro I am planning to get, it's dimensions is: 16.47" x 11.29", or in mm: 418" x 287". I have looked around the web after the perfect one, but most of the pads are just a tad to small, like 10-20 mm. too small. And the ones that then finally seems to fit, just looks very bulky or isn't that effective. Just to be clear, 6-7 degrees are the minimum it needs to cool down from how hot it already was. And something like a 10 degree cooldown would of course be optimal, but maybe that is a bit too much to ask? :)
    - So what suggestions do y'all have? Would like if you yourself have some experience with the suggestions :)
FYI, I have already looked at models like CM Storm SF-17, Cooler Master Notepal X3 and a few more. But just come with all your suggestions anyway! :)

Really? Have seen some reviews of different cooling pads where they said it helped that much. But I am really not into modding and such in general, so I want a pad that doesn't need any of that work. Do you have any suggestions for a cooling pad that then just cools like 3-4 degrees? (and still fits my other few requirements) Thanks for the reply!

I just bought a Coolermaster Notepal U2 Plus for my laptop in sig, and it cools mine anywhere between 6 and 10c. In all seriousness, with the laptop on the U2 on my lap lying on top of my bed, with no fans on, my CPU idle temps are 54/55c, and down to 45/46c when fans are running.

On a flat desk surface, it brings temps down from mid 40s to mid 30s. Maybe it's my particular laptop that works well with the U2, but yeah, I'm far more impressed with it than reviews led me to believe where they were all saying only 2 or 3c reduction.

Each 80mm fan is rated at 31cfm and there's two fans. The U3 has 3 x 80mm fans at only 15cfm each, so it seems the U2 pushes more air. The U3 also would have been too big for my laptop. or any laptop under 17".

Here's my .02 cooling pad are just money drainers I doubt they really would do more then you leaving nothing blocking the vent ports would more then suffice to keep the heat effect down. Also it's extra baggage and it need a power adapter to run so if you trying to be portable that isn't the smart way to do. Rather proper laptop vent and fan cleaning and redoing your thermal paste would go along way to insure proper heat flow away from important components.

They raise it up off the hot reflective surface and that alone is responsible for the majority (80%) of reduction in heat. After that the fan, may help but not by nearly as much.
