Notepal U3, has 3 fans, also you could move them to cool specific areas below your laptop

notepal U2 is cheaper and quieter. airflow... if you exchange fans then maybe ;) But it works thanks to giving more space underneath.

My vote goes to: Amazon.com: Coolermaster Notepal D-lite Silent Fan Cooling Pad: Computers & Accessories

    Cheap!

    Light weight!

Only 1 fan, which runs via unit's USB connector via connection to the laptop, so minimum of power needed, whereas multi-fan units use more power.

Fan is 140mm so has lower rotation speed. Fan speed is fixed, but the fan noise from large fans isn't annoying, at least not to me.

Fan blows air up, into the laptop.

I went with the Cooler Master NotePal U3 for my sager np9170. got it on amazon for $30.

If you plan on placing one or more of the fans towards the bottom of the cooler, you will fail. Fans are large and good at what they do, but their size means the natural slope of the cooler doesnt work. These fans do not suck air in from the bottom, so cooling functionality is not effected, but it can upset the balance.

The usb passthrough port is flimsy and has an awkwardly placed cord. When using the plug on the left side of my laptop, the cord sticking out of the left side of the device prevents you from using the usb port next to it, if your ports are spaced regularly apart. wont be an issue if your ports are further apart.

There is a bit of fan noise on the highest speeds, but that is to be expected.

To give a general idea of coolling performance, I was running Metro 2033 ( one of the most demanding games out there) and my load at ultra settings without the cooler on was 65C. With the cooler it dropped to 61C

Overall, if you have a large desktop replacement (more than 16inches width when measured) this is your best bet, but you could also get one of their smaller versions since you have a 15.6in.

Looking to get a NotePal X Slim myself (final).

The thing just has everything I want in a cooler: great cooling (160mm fan), very quiet (<21dba), pretty light weight (700g) and inexpensive.

I use my laptop at home mainly so the size (thickness) and portability of the cooler does not really apply to me.

Either the notepad 2 or 3. Depends on the pricing, in regards to what you could afford. I would also highly reccomend you check on the zalman coolers. Very quiet, good airflow and do the job very nicely.

I'm using the Notepal U2. Works pretty well with my Clevo W110ER and the Asus U41SV I had before. Size is good enough for a 15" really and you can always add on more fans if the 2 that were included aren't enough.
