I read it on most treads that the laptop coller main function is raising the laptop allowing more air to flow. The thing is I live in Brazil (veery hot place) and use my laptop in bed (because in my actual lap is impossible with the heat).

In this case, would a laptop cooller be of good use or should I look for something else?

Is there a specific laptop cooller that is good for using in the lap?

    Thank you!

When you use laptop on bed, usually cloth blocks airways and makes laptop even hotter. If your laptop works fine on a desk, then you could simply use a chopping board or a large book under the laptop and let the air flow.

Laptop coolers additionally raise the laptop, the bigger gap gives more airflow and added fans help more. Some of the coolers are designed to be used on a desk (they have no bottom) and some in lap (even soft bottom). Sizes differ, 17" laptop needs bigger cooler than 12".

While I don't have any exact recommendation, at least knowing your laptop make/model would help others.
