I have Acer Aspire 5739g 15,6 Inch that overheats and shuts down when playing games like sims 3. I was thinking of buying Coolmaster Notepad U2 or U3 but unsure because I have read that the U3 fits 17" to 19" and some said it can fit 15". I don't know if they are any good but if there is another cooling pad around 40 usd that will be good to!

I have used Speedfan - newbie of this, but the I got

    GPU 53C
    HD0 45C
    TEMP1 87C
    CORE0 48C
    CORE1 48C
Sorry for my bad English :)

Try opening it up and cleaning out the vents first. If it's still hot then I'd say go with the U3. The U2 is a little small for a 15" and U3 has one extra fan and only a little more expensive, so why not? :p

I have a NP9170 & I've got a U2. So that's a 17.3" laptop. The U2 is just a little bit smaller in area than the laptop's base, but it works out great for me as I can set the fans wherever I want on it, so I've set it on the edges of the U2 aligned perfectly under the intake vents of my laptop.

Seeing as how you've got the Asus Aspire 5739G, you also have two intake vents..so I would suggest going for the U2. Its smaller, more compact & works very well. Since you don't have that third intake vent below the laptop, in my opinion it wouldn't make much sense to get the triple fan based U3.

Hey, thanks for the answers! I forgot to tell you that sims 3 worked before but now it stopped...

I have bought the coolmaster U3, will go get it today i think :) I have thought of changing the fan speed in Speedfan but I think the motherboard is not supported. I will also clean the computer.

Is there anything more I can do without being to risky? Like any program that can control the overheating? Because I saw now in speedfan that the Temp1 is always high but there is no sound from the fan and also the other numbers are high but no sound from the fans and the computer is not warm...

Also, I have changed the "Screen Refresh Rate" in the game ( I read it on another forum) instead of downloading a ftps limiter..
