    Just wondering, it seems like my friends all use corded keyboard and mouse for games.

    I could understand maybe the latency of wireless, but I can't really tell the difference...yet.

    I use my performance mx mouse for fps, and I havent seen any differences. probably because im not at the level where time is crucial.

    It's not necessarily a amtter of latency, most gaming keyboards are wired to start with and you don't need batteries for those either. Besides, for a desktop, unless it also serves as a HTPC, wireless isn't really a necessity.

    These if you buy a good wireless mouse you won't have more latency (maybe 1 or 2 ms with a 1000hz polling rate.
    A keyboard, wireless or not, doesnt matter, it's about preference i geuss.

    I have here a ouroboros, only things what happens when I put it in wireless mode is that it becoming more heavy, and that's reason also I use wired mode.
    I used wireless and things of latency are really more in the past (@ razers division then :p)

    It's about personal preference.

    There are three reasons why your friends like wired devices:
    * Battery Life
    * Weight
    * Cost

    Wireless keyboards & mice need batteries. Keyboard batteries usually last you 6-24 months. Mouse battery life will range from 12 hours-24 hours (for high-end gaming mice with high DPI and USB polling rates) to 1-3 years (for "standard" non-gaming mice). With a wired mouse / keyboard, you will NEVER be in a situation where you miss a kill because your mouse battery died.

    Wireless mice are also heavier, because they need to accommodate the weight of the batteries. Gaming-grade wired mice often let you adjust the weight and balance, which means you can configure your mouse drag feel however you like (e.g. light center-balanced mice, heavier rear-balanced mice, etc).

    Wireless devices also tend to be costlier than their wired counterparts of equivalent quality. A high-end gaming mouse can run you anywhere from $70 - $130. Meanwhile, a highend wired gaming mouse will usually run you from $40 - $80.

    A lot of people who look at wireless think " Hey, this is just as good as wired, but better, because it's wireless!".
    No.
    Wireless has significant drawbacks to convenience and usability. And that is why your friends like wired. They prefer to have the superior convenience and usability of wired devices, and are willing to give up wireless connectivity in order to achieve those benefits they get from wired.

    I think high end wireless mice tend to perform around the same as high end wired ones, but the just cost more.

    Personally, I prefer wireless mice because I find the the cord gets in the way for wired ones.

    That totally makes sense, I always thought there was something different between cheap wireless mouse and more expensive wireless gaming mouse.

    Yup, I like the convinience of wireless, but looking for a better than average wired set for home.

    I don't think I'll ever use a wireless setup due to batteries and latency felt while gaming.... just a pain in the butt. I've been really happy with my Alienware desktop keyboard and Razer Lachesis lefty mouse.
