is there really a big difference in using corsair ram as compared to other brands such as Kensington? or others? or is it just hype that it is the best brand?

Probably not, aside from slight deviations from design that Corsair may do to improve performance, but in my experience, in normal computing I don't notice any difference if it's value RAM in my system or "performance" RAM. Maybe a biggie is the clock speed on the RAM which may improve performance, but I haven't really experienced such a change just by changing out RAM brands, only by increasing the amount of RAM I've had did I really notice a change.

cool thanx, so basically i can save some money and buy a sager np2090 instead of the compal ifl90(which has the option for corsair ram). i'm not sure as to which of these two laptops to purchase.
