I saw a thread on this just the other day here in our forums, the feedback was not good for it.

Try a keyword search or even a google search and you can probably find the same thread.

From here on out, I wont touch anything from creative, unless they actaully start making their products worth buying. If you want a real DAC, then get the Pico.

Whats your problem with Creative, their MP3 players, speakers and headphones are pretty good.

I had a HS-600, it had an awesome sound quality...but the clasp broke after 3 months..I brought it back to the store where I bought it, they phone Creative and it got refunded. Now I use a HS-400 and they are pretty good to...so either you were unlucky or Creative has better customer support in Europe than in Singapore.

lol, the only two mp3 players they ever built that were almost any good are the Visions M and W, and video is the only thing they did right. When it comes to sound quality... Creative just isn't that good. If you think their mp3 players are good, then you need to step into the realm of Cowon.

The only thing creative is popular for is Soundcards..

    Syndrome..how bad is XMOD really?

Does it artificially enhance sound or just widen it.

I think with your headphones it wont sound to bad, but I've been using it with some HD580's and I just don't like it. I even turn off all the 'enhancements' Cause those warp it even more. I didn't mind it so much when I was using my PX100's but once I jumped up to a higher platform of headphones then I realized I wanted something else.

The real xfi's are good cards, a big move forward in pc sound cards when they came out. But they only have them for desktops.

the rest of creative stuff like headphones and speakers are only... I dunno how to say it. Ok for average joe maybe but not quality.

    Well i Bought it today....

What i can say is that the Low-bit-rate Mp3 songs are sound much much better than my crappy onboard soundcard.

For 320Kbps there is mild enhancement and with CMDSS-3D...the Soundstage is coming out well.

Although there are many better DACs out there but X-Fi XMOD is good for Mp3 songs

due to its low price u dont mind having it ..

but you wont notice big improvement on non-mp3 songs or if u have Amps.
