As i want to work and play on my new plasma a bit i need a solid wireless mouse and keyboard. Id like them to work with one small usb key (like the unifying stuff) and last long on battery. Id love some suggestions, everything i look at just seams cheap crud so far... Either too small, too many useless buttons, cramped, short battery life...

I have the Lenovo Multimedia Remote with Keyboard N5902, with back lit keyboard. The mouse button is "optical", and it has a finger scroll function beneath it. I used to have the N5901, but it had it's problems, like the mouse ball was hard to use and lacked precision. Here is a u-tube review of the N5902:

I like it, but I'm also thinking of getting a wireless mouse, without the keyboard. I'm torn between using another USB connection, or the Bluetooth in my laptop. I've heard that the Bluetooth wireless mice connections all have "stutter" or lagging problems. I haven't had any problems with the USB connection on my N5902.

Do any of you, employ the Bluetooth wireless mouse connection, and do you have any problems with lagging, or stuttering?:confused2:

    Thanks for the suggestions but...
I like the plain old classic designs, nothing fancy like that.
I dont have bluetooth in my laptop nor do i want to use any bluetooth stuff as it usually comes with its own set of problems.
I certainly dont want anything that needs a charging station, i need something that will hold at least a few months if not years on a set of batteries so i can forget about charging or constantly replacing them.
I need a full sized keyboard with classic key placement and a decently large mouse to fit in my hand (Performance MX is perfect, but that one needed recharging every two days which was driving me mad, so the M705 is a good compromise if ill be able to get one).
I also want both to work on just one small receiver that i can also forget is plugged in my laptop so i guess im left just with Unifying.

So now im looking to get the old M705 with the superior quality material and a metal scrolling wheel, but its prooving to be really hard to find old stock... The refresh is just horrible; cheaper plastic, plastic wheel that rattles so damn loudly, the whole mouse is lighter and just feels so cheap... Logitech just screwed up a great mouse with the refresh.
Im still torn between the K250 vs K360. The K250 does have the old high buttons and the darn graphics on it, but it has full sized keys including full sized arrow keys. The K360 has the new chicklet design with lower keys but the arrow keys are so damn small...

I'm not sure on keyboard, however the Logitech Marathon Mouse seems *exactly* what you need. Other than that, just find a Logitech Keyboard that is compatible with the Unifying Receiver - Unifying products

Don't know if they still make and sell them, but I have a Microsoft Standard wireless USB keyboard and optical mouse and they have been working great, on a daily basis, under harsh treatment for a long long time now.
They use AA batteries and I usually only have to change batteries(I use rechargeables) every 1 1/2 to 2 months.

Here is what I have being sold as used on Ebay(I have no idea if this specific unit is any good though).

Wow how'd I miss the Solar keyboard, very cool. Kind of wish I gotten that instead of my X4. Has anyone used this keyboard for gaming, how well does it work? Responsiveness, ghosting, etc?

What is your definition of long battery life? I have the Logitech darkfield anywhere mouse, similar to the M705, but less battery life (lasts a month or two, depending if on use). Though I can use it on any surface, which was a huge plus for me.

About once a month, I notice an ~2 second delay when typing where the keyboard doesn't respond, followed by an immediate burst of characters containing whatever I typed while the keyboard was being unresponsive. My guess is that there's some sort of wireless transmission hiccup going on during those times.

Other than that, it works about as well as any wired keyboard would.

I recently bought the Logitech K800 wireless and backlit keyboard along with the Logitech MX Anywhere? mouse, both using a single unifying receiver. The work flawlessly and I love the combo. I actually bought a Rii mini wireless backlit keyboard (with touchpad at that lol!) and was happy to find that both wireless receivers work perfectly together.

I bought the mini keyboard for use w/my projector/desktop setup in the office and am really happy with these 3 products.

Plus backlit is so handy and cool in the dark!

mrniceguy - have you tried using your K800 for gaming? I'm just curious about its performance for gaming. I just set my laptop on my coffee table and run an HDMI to it for games on my big screen. I'm not super hardcore but do enjoy playing some Skyrim or (eventually) Diablo III.
