    HI all
I have just bought a DELL "CP" PENTIUM 2 166MMX PORTABLE LAPTOP COMPUTER off ebay, I know nothing about lap tops or the cards you put in them. The bloke I bought it off said I need a 56k modem PCMCIA card if I want to acess the internet which I do.
My question is where do I get one from, I have looked on ebay, but they all seem to be different and I don't know which one to buy, buying overseas dosen't worry me but I would rather buy in Australia.
Can anyone tell me which card I need?
There is one on ebay, 3COM 10/100 NIC + 56K MODEM PCMCIA CARD that they want $49.99 ( is this the right one ), is that a fair price as they have them overseas a lot cheaper even with postage, Any help would be great.
    Thanks in advance
    Mersie

$50 is a little too much. You should be able to get one for $25 or even less. That PCMCIA card is like a decade old

That 3Com card might be worth it since you get both network and modem.

I've got one in my drawer that cost ~£100 innumerable years ago.

Just out of curiosity, how much did you pay for the laptop?

    Hi
I paid $152.55 for the lap top, and he says it's in excellent condition the only thing being that the battery does not hold charge anymore, but that does not matter as there is a power cord with it and I'm not likley to be using it away from home anyway.
