    so ive picked out a case and hd (SATA samsung 250gb 7200rpm and some enclosure). when it gets here i put the hd in the enclosure and then what?

    Unless either one comes with instructions, just plug it in and format the drive.

    Place the HD in the enclosure.
    Plug into PC.
    Partition, if you want. Format it for NTFS.
    Enjoy.
