    HEy there,

Just got the Black Mamba fror mig m15x BUT,

I dont quit understand the difference between dpi and sentivity ?

because when i turn op the dpi, my courser just fly arround, and that's why i thnk it should be the same ??

ooooor should i get a high dpi, and turn down the speed of the mouse in "windows control panel mouse" ?

You should get a high dpi mouse and keep it there. You'll get used to it, then curse yourself for waiting so long to switch.

    Agrees with Max,
I have two Razer 'mice' one wired one bluetooth, awesome!
Their software gives/ allows you to make detailed changes, 'almost' on the fly. I prefer a high DPI ( more specific place im pointing) and a just slightly lower sensitivity ( to slow down its movement) AND I add acceleration to recognize a quick move to the other side of the screen. All features you will find benefits in. Switch now, its like going from manual transmission to automatic !

I have the Razer Mamba mous,e so i can get a high DPI, BUT if i take the 5800 dpi, it to fast, BUT if I then turn down the sentivity in the windows control panel in mouse, will i still have the 5800 DPI then ??

    That's my question :)

Crelle, I don't use the windows settings, at all, for either Razer mouse.
The software Razer supplies allows more detailed changes. Razer Lachesis (wired) - picture attached.
Yes, changing the sensitivity (speed) does not affect the DPI setting.
They are independent but both effect mouse movement, 'Detailed Location' and 'Speed'.
You can drive (in your car) at 50mph/80kph in three different gears, but one gear is most efficient.
Set to 4000 DPI and experiment with sensitivity! It is also possible to miss targets because the DPI is set to high.

Mamba is a beast. Though low DPI is your friend in games.

I use high DPI and low in-game sensitivity.

DPI=Dots per Inch.I do not still understand what DPI means? If DPI is higher, will the movement of the mouse cursor will be faster with the same movement speed?Does it increase, the movement, the distance and the speed of the mouse cursor? What is the difference between mouse sensitivity and DPI then?Anyone knows?

Well said, but if you are looking for performance, the lower gear will be the most efficent,if you are looking for fuel economy the higher gear will be the most efficent and for both, the middle gear.

Only to a certain extent, though...first gear isn't going to do your performance any favors if you're on a 60mph freeway. :)

I posted this in another thread. I can't vouch for it that much since i haven't really ventured into the realm of DPI (just that i tend to buy the mouse with the most features and highest dpi), but it seems plausible.
