    Hello.
Do DVD+RW have more than 7.8GB of space?
I kinda weak on my English.
I just want to ask that do DVD+RW(more than 7.8) exist?

    I'm pretty sure it doesn't.

Singel layer DVDs are about 4,5GB
Double layer DVDs are about 8,5GB (that is single write)

I'm not sure double layer RWs exist - they must as you found them.

If you need more space on discs either split it to several discs - or go the expensive way of blue ray.

I do have blu-ray disc room. But Blu-Ray disc is far too expensive than a plain DVD.
So, it is called Double Layer DVD. What it mean by single write?

With single write I mean the + or - R discs.

You burn your data to them once and then you cannot erase them.

    RW discs are re-writeable.

    Thanks for the information.
    I guess I don't need RW discs.
+ or -R already good enough for me currently.

when you burn DL, its best to burn them at the slowest setting and verify the data after burning... to reduce chances of 'coasting' the disc (bad burn... the disc is useless, it can be used as a cup coaster...)

update the drive firmware (if possible)... it is said Verbatim DL discs made in singapore are the highest quality and lowest coast rate

    How much it cost?
If its price is very near to Blu-Ray disc, then I would think about Blu-ray instead of it.

You'll have to check local sites.

About 4 years ago Verbatimg Duble layr DVDs were 20€ for 5.... but that's age ago.

Edit: Maybe even 5 years ago...

i just bought a 10 pack dvd+r dl spindle from radioshack (USA) for $10... was on sale(50% off)

    http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=354428&t=1365661

about US$1-$1.50 per DL disc... for 8.5 gb

its about US$0.30 per single layer DVD disc... for 4.5 gb

blu ray is about $3 per disc for 25gb, but a recorder costs $100+, and a reader costs $50+ and isn't that widespread yet...

    your choice
