Shoot i just ordered this on newegg..vantec lapcool2
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16834999412
and i read that this cooler does not fit well AT ALL with a 15.4" widescreen which is what i have.
is this true?

What size is your laptop??? My laptop hangs off of my cooler and I have no problems with it (I do not have the specific cooler that you are looking at). As long as it won't be much more than 1" on each side you should have no problem.
Tim -
My laptop is a 15.4" widescreen
laptop specs 14.09"x 10.20"
lapcool2 specs 11.8"x 10.3"
i wanted the rubber pads on the top of the lapcool to mate up with the pads on the botom of my 1039 but it looks like its not going to happen.
i just dont want the pad (upper right) on the lapcool to be directly on my fan vent on the laptop -
i have the lapcool3, which i think is the same size as the one you ordered, and an 15.4 widescreen.
It hangs over the cooler by almost an inch each side but its quite secure.
Unfortunately the laptop feet at the side closer to me do not touch the cooler, but the cooler has small pads to lift up the laptop.
Reason I got the lapcool3 rather than the 2, was the 3 has a vent at the back it blows the air out, rather than just blowing the air down, which wouldn't be good for my legs! -
Ma2T--thanks
but yours (lapcool3) is 11.8"x9"
mine (lapcool2) is 11.8"x10.3" so its a little bigger
Also i believe the lapcool3 sucks in air while the lapcool2 blows the air up -
No Probs.
My lapcool3 sucks air in from the fans and blows it out the back, I heared this was the best way, but who knows. As I use my laptop on my lap a lot, or in bed etc, I didn't want to be blocking the fans, so went with the 3. -
ya you got the cooler that sucks in air as your laptop probably vents exhaust out of the bottom
my 1039 laptop INTAKE fan sucks in from the bottom so i needed a cooler that blew air up at it instead of sucking air away as it would be counterproductive
Dang it. ordered wrong size cooler (lapcool2)
