    Hi there,

I'm currently searching for a bag for my new laptop but am having trouble finding anything that I like. I'm wondering if any of you guys know of anything suitable...

I am looking for either a sling or backpack style bag but most of the ones I have come across are way too big. I want something as small as possible.

My laptop is a Dell xps m1330 (13.3" screen). All I want to put in the bag is the laptop itself and maybe the AC adaptor. If possible I'd like it not to look like it is obviously holding a laptop.

Most of the bags I have found are just too thick. The laptop itself is only just over 3cms thick but most of the bags I've found start at 2.5 times that thickness.

    Thanks for any help.
    Paul

there are a LOT of reviews and threads about laptop bags atm. I suggest doing a quick search for 13.3' laptop bags on notebookreview.com and you'll be surprised.

    Hi NikonUser.
I too am in your shoes.
    Try www.sfbags.com
I just ordered their custom sleeve with a flap, strap, and piggyback.
I like the idea that if I don't want to carry the ac adapter and accessories, I can detach the piggyback.
    Mine should be here tomorrow.
If you're interested, let me know and I can tell you how it fits.

    Thanks guys,

I've tried google, ebay and many other search engines but still haven't found anything yet. Most just seem too bulky.

I would be interested in hearing about your bag when you get it Dave.

    Paul

EDIT: The custom sleeve does look very good!

    Hi Paul.
My SF sleeve & piggyback came today.
I ordered the one to fit the m1330 with the 6 cell battery.
The fit is perfect with my 4 cell battery on it and I'm also able to put it in with the 9 cell as well.
The piggyback holds a mouse with another pocket beside it for something of similar size. My ac adapter fits in the front with room for a few other small things.
I got the sleeve with the flap and that seals it up nicely.
The quality, design, and construction are all excellent.
Not to mention, Gary sends you a personal email the following day to review your order.
    I would HIGHLY reccomend this!

    Hi all,
    First post!

I am also on the hunt for a decent laptop backpack. One that can fit my current laptop (xps m1330) and a lot of other junk, lunch, gym gear (shoes, clothes, towel) reasonably well. I will look at some of the suggestions here - but would love to hear if anyone else has any good suggestions for such a bag.

    Cheers! :) :D :)

    hey dloreski,

I'm glad to hear your sleeve was to your liking. I recently ordered and received a Waterfield sleeve too for my T61 Thinkpad 15.4. My sleeve came with stains on it. After several emails and pics sent to Waterfield, Gary sent me an email saying the stains would eventually disappear. Did your sleeve have any stains? I created a new thread with an attached jpg to ask if anyone else has had the same experience. Thanks.

    Hi Thinkpad.
No, mine came in perfect condition. And I'm pretty particular about everything and look it all over VERY close. It was also in a clear plastic bag to protect it in the box during shipping.
I read your other post and it sounds like they're going to take care of you. That's great that they will let you use this one until your new one comes.
Sorry to hear of your issue.
Keep us all posted of the outcome!

    Thanks for the info Dloreski.

Although mine came in a clear plastic bag too, it had some tears in it as if it had been prodded and poked with some sharp object. In the plastic bag, along with the sleeve, there was also a little unattached postcard sized tag and an invoice. The tag was for the Cargo bag they sell. I found that kind of odd at first and thought either that was misplaced in my sleeve only purchase or they are enticing me with the Cargo bag in which my sleeve should surely fit.

Either way, I'm expecting a delivery confirmation this morning for the replacement sleeve they have committed to. I appreciate your feedback regarding what condition your sleeve was in when it arrived. That helps me to know what I should not settle for. I will post the final outcome here when all is said and done. Thanks again.

Update: Please see this url for my final update on this. Thanks.
