Just ordered my XPS yesterday, and I didn't order the backpack case that was available because I don't like the backpack style.

Just wondering what you guys use to carry this monster around - I'm a little worried about the power brick fitting in a standard 17" case, with a mouse and headset in there.

the whole reason i use a backpack style is because the messenger bag style one imo dont offer as much storage. but check otu slappa.com they have a new messenger bag that is HUGE it has like 1500sq inches of storage. i have one coming along with the backpack i have here from them. they make great stuff..

see here for my quick review and lots of pics of their backpack: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=249997

I ended up just buying the XPS backpack for mine. I don't regret it. I can't find any other bag that can carry both the brick and the notebook.

That Slappa bag is kind of pricey...but it does have a decent amount of storage room from the pictures.

My concern with the messenger bags is that, since I usually carry the bags by the handle rather than the shoulder, the clasps would somehow fail and my case would fly open. But, I don't really take my computer that many places anyway.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll browse around their website a little more today.

After looking at the pics, no, I wouldn't buy that backpack for the m1730 unless you are planning on using it for 45 mins on battery power. The dell bag at least has a separate compartment for the charger along with more storage space and plenty of padding.
