Looking for a carrying case for my new 700m.
Even the DELL case is really the 600m case.

I'm looking for a 700m-size case too. Have you had any luck?

I highly recommend the Shinza ZeroShock sleeve. I have one for my 600m mainly to protect it when I put it in my backpack. I carry my laptop on and off campus a lot and my binders/folders would normally scratch my laptop but the sleeve protects it. The sleeve also absorbs shock with its super cool technology.

Also the sleeve is really fun to play with and squeeze [ :D]

will the small shinza fit the 700m with the 8 cell battery? I say this because the battery does not sit flush with the laptop. The dimensions of the medium size shinza seem too roomy for the 700m. Any one know?

As of two days ago I'm the very proud owner of a new 700M (2Ghz and 512MB with the bigger 8 cell battery so she's a little deeper than with the 4 cell - 9" instead of 8.5" - I am SO happy I got this machine!).

I did a fair bit of research on cases while waiting for my new toy to show up and I now have two.

The ZeroShock 12" just arrived today and she fits nicely even with the bigger battery - maybe even BECAUSE of the bigger battery, but at this point I'd recommend the ZeroShock as a nice sleeve. Check out the reviews for the 12" and 15" at Shinza for more feedback on quality - I've done no testing, but will be happy to use this as a sleeve and because it doesn't add much more to the systems already tiny demensions it will work well in the "laptop attache'" I picked up at CompUSA.

The attache' is the smallest one they had at CompUSA at 15" and is made by Case Logic (www.caselogic.com) and I believe it's model #NPE2. I thought about taking it back when I found the sleeve, but have since changed my mind as it's perfect for adding the power supply and wireless mouse and yet is still pretty compact. It has retractable handles and the feature I liked best is the 'sorta hard' sides. It's certainly no Samsonite suitcase (for those of you who weren't around for the old commercials - Samsonite used to advertise that their luggage was incredibly rugged - had an ape beating the hell out of it to 'prove' it), but it seemed to me the more rigid sides would protect the laptop if it was dinged from the sides while offering about the same protection a cloth/neoprene would for a top or bottom hit. And while it's pretty thin (just under 2") it offers a little organization area for CDs, some papers, etc and is still small enough to retract the handles and fit in my backpack comfortably. The dimensions are 13.5"x11.75"x1.75"

Best o' luck to you all and congrats on owning such a sweet little machine!

I got a Dr. Mo memory foam laptop cover off of Ebay. Fits the 700m like a glove, it's perfect! Also you can buy it at www.jetpens.com and they have free shipping. I love it.
