This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Dell Docking Station

    Not quite up to things with regard to this . . . . . I'm wanting to set up a home office workstation that has a fixed computer with (now) the need for periodic docking of a laptop. Would like to use common mouse/keyboard (currently USB) and monitor for both. I understand that I could use some sort of KVM switch (although my monitor does have dual inputs), but with the idea of docking stations, can any of these stations address the need for dual computers? The idea of docking the laptop and just switching over seems ideal, but I'm wondering if indeed that scenario even exists.
