I got my Inspiron 1501 about 2 years ago, and within a year the back where the AC adapter cord plugs into my computer ripped and it will no longer charge.

Look at the reviews, apparently 100% of the people who left a review had the same problem. I actually have a friend that had this happen aswell (he has the same laptop).

Anyways, I'm wondering if there are any other cords that work with my computer that someone could suggest, because I honestly don't feel like paying another $80 just to have the new cord rip again.

    Thanks for any help!

The cord itself ripped? I don't understand how a cord would just rip unless you are tugging on it. Or do you mean the power connector on your notebook?

Haha, I mean the end exactly where it plugs into the notebook was "worn out" and eventually BROKE off :p

My bad for not making that clear

You dont have to get one marked specifically for that laptop. Just get a regular 90 watt dell adaptor and it should work. Dell has been using this power supply as their standard design as far as i know since 2002-2003.
