    hi fellows;

    i have this question:
    I have laptop dell that does not come with internal cd rom, i want to know if i connect the laptop via usb to my desktop i can be able to install programs to that laptop? or i have to buy USB 2.0 External CD-RW DVD rom?

    You can network your laptop and desktop and then share the optical drive on your desktop across the connection.

    Or you can just use your desktop to copy files from the CD to a USB flash drive and then put the stick into your laptop.

    You probably shouldn't connect your laptop and desktop together with USB.

    thanks for the answer but for example if ineed to reinstall the o/s i think i will need the external cd rom,i am not sure
