Which monitor would you choose? I don't mind paying the extra money if I'm going to get a higher quality monitor in the long run, I'm most worried about quality. I just want to make sure whatever I get will last me four years at least. I also don't want to have to deal with a lot of hassle with returning a faulty monitor for a new one.
If it matters, I intend to mainly watch TV/movies on this monitor as I plan on getting a TV tuner for my laptop. I don't plan on doing a whole lot of gaming either. Possibly a little bit of photo/video editing.
So in order of what I'll be doing most:
1) TV/Movies
2) Photo/Video editing
3) Gaming
So in the end, which monitor do you think would suit me best?

Dell... which might be a bit more expensive.. why dont you look at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001096

I actually own both now.......22" Acer is my choice because it runs a lot cooler and it turns on gradually, rather than instantly like Dell unit, which I was told may cause dead pixels.
Also, if you were able to get on the BB Acer 22" deal, you will understand why I prefer Acer too......I paid too much for my Dell monitor. -
I thought about getting the samsung, but then I found out that the monitor was made by two different companies and that if you got the one made by one of the companies that you were pretty likely to have dead pixels. I don't want to take a chance and get stuck with a monitor that is messed up from the start.

I don't think deadpixels are to common nowadays since they are getting better at manufacturing lcds. But I've been graced by zero deadpixel Viewsonic vx2025wm so it really doesn't matter to me -
As much as I avoid these 22" widescreens because of their... subpar panel technology (TN vs IPS or *VA), the Samsung 226BW is impressive. This Samsung line is the first with TN panels that I can honestly say look good. The viewing angles still aren't great, but when viewed dead on the color is nice (still not accurate), and the angles are much improved.
I'd avoid both Acer and Dell, but a lot of people seem to like Dell. I'll admit some of the Dell panels have been nice, but they're shifty, changing techs without changing model numbers, with some rather serious issues in the past. -

Buy the way, I wouldn't go Dell - they might be cheap but they're also rubbishy. -
I have like 5 Dell monitors, for almost 4 yeras now, and i never had an issue, they are great quality..
