I just got my new XPS 1210 laptop and it's great! However, I elected to purchase the 9-cell extended battery when I should have purchased both the 9-cell and 6-cell.
Now I want to get the 6-cell and when I phoned Dell parts they want to charge me $179 US which is 2X the amount if I had paid for it with the system (in addition to the 9-cell)??!?!?!?
Does anyone know where I can get an aftermarket battery?
Thanks![]()

no aftermarket at this point, im told about a month before we might see the m1210 configuration, bad thing is, no other computer uses it, so its not a big priority for the generic market.
just get the dell one, last I saw was closer to $100 US -
Yeah you get stuff cheaper when you buy alot at once, thats how buisnesses do it. If you want to try it you could try and negotiate it with a dell sales rep on the phone. You never know, you may be able to talk them down to the price you would have paid. Its worth a shot to save that much money, and you wont know if it will work unless you try it, it couldnt hurt.

galactus, maybe you know someone else who'll want to buy some dell gear...get them to ask for a 6-cell xps1210 battery and check which price they will be asked to buy.
if all you want to buy is a a single upgrade item then you'll be paying a premium. that's not dell, that's just how the market works.
