    Hello everybody.
I researched quite a lot of sources and couldn't find an answer: does Dell have any E-port docking station equipped with S/PDIF?
I aware of PRO1X docking station but it is D-port intended and is incompatible with E series as a know. Does anybody could provide clear information about this?

In order to support SPDIF output, you need a sound chip that supports surround sound. And most business-class notebooks don't support that.

Your best bet is to get an external sound card that has SPDIF output, if you really need it.

Not necessarily do you have to have surround to do this. But to get this feature, you need an external audio interface.
