I'm looking for speakers(preferably wireless) that I can use for both my desktop and my laptop. I have an old desktop and the stock speakers still, and they just aren't cutting it anymore, especially with the huge power adapter and unnecessary wires. I am waiting for my laptop(G73) and was wondering if there are any speakers I can purchase that would be both sufficient for my desktop and laptop. I want to be able to switch the speakers every once in a while. I'm not looking to spend any more then $60-70. Thanks in advance guys, all help is appreciated as there is an abundance of speakers out there and I just know where to start in my purchase.

EDIT: It would be nice if it could include a clock and a radio, something that would look nice on a computer desk. The mobility isn't a problem for my as I will using my laptop at my computer desk a decent amount of time.

AFAIK, I don't know of many wireless sets that don't sound like cell-phone speakers. Sorry. But the ones I have at my desk are simple 2.1's with a wired remote. And they'll make the floor rumble if need be..lol
Logitech Z-2300's will run you about 100 bucks, but I promise they're worth EVERY penny.

Thanks for the input. So your saying there are no good USB wireless speakers? The Logitech's are nice, but I'm looking for something a little smaller, and a little cheaper, something that is easy to switch from my desktop to laptop.

The Z-2300 is excellent, and I second the recommendation.

USB speakers are generally crap, and wireless speakers are also generally crap. Wireless USB speakers would be like exponential crap. :p

Sadly, I have to agree. I think the best sounding portable set of speakers I have is the iPod HiFi. I bought one before they quit making them, and it sounds AMAZING (for it's size). One cord external input input, and some D-cells... But they stopped making them in 2006.

can't go wrong with z-2300's or klipsch promedia 2.1's. they're also very easy to switch as well. u don't really have to move any speakers, or at least not the sub, and just move the audio plug from one system to the other.

sure u can get some USB speakers if just a bit more sound is what u want. they will not compare to the clarity and definition of a nice 2.1 system though.

i gave my old logitech z-4 2.1 to a buddy of mine after i upgraded to my promedia 2.1's. even those are a much better setup then some USB 2 channel speakers.

dell has their AY410 2.1 system on sale for about $25 bucks all the time. from what i've read from the guys over at slickdeals, the AY410 is a darn nice system for $25 bucks.

if none of those options appeal to u, then i'd rather spend $60-$70 on some nice headphones.

I always in threads like these have to recommend looking on Craigslist...here in Atlanta (which is a high CL traffic area granted) I recently picked up a pair of 5.1 Logitech Z-680 (the THX certified sh!ts) for $40 brand spanking new in box. Before that got a set of Creative Gigaworks S-750's used for $100...just saying...dont know about where you live, but Craigslist here works for me! :p

Other than that the Z-2300's are a very nice set. Have you just checked on Newegg/Tigerdirect/Amazon to see what they have in your price range?

If not, Id say to spend the money on a good set of headphones unless you specifically need/want speakers.

:D Hi, I had bought two same speakers from a online store: Gadgettown, and the speaker both suitable for my bother's desktop and my laptop, it look nice for us, and with Emergency Lamp and Radio, but not clock. It includes Remote control and two adpater, and it's only $28.99. I hope it's what you want: YH-B2 Special Mini Speaker with Emergency Lamp and Radio:wink:

I have already ordered the Moray earbuds by Razer, they should be arriving around the same time as my laptop does. The Z2300's look ridiculous but I don't need that huge sub. I'm just looking for a set of good quality, sleek designed speakers to switch from my desktop to my laptop which is like a desktop replacement. Any ideas on ones that are a bit smaller and cheaper but still good quality.

EDIT: These are my current speakers http://www99.shopping.com/xPO-Gateway-Gateway-G-MAX2000-2-Piece-Multimedia-Speakers There ancient, I know my desktop is 5 years old. lol

Thanks for the suggestion, they don't seem to fit in my current setup though, they would stand out like a sore thumb. Those speakers are a good idea though, I wish they didn't look like 'teenagerish'.

Good to know... But unfortunately way out my league right now. I'm just looking for good $60 that aren't so big, and don't have a huge sub. Thanks anyway.

I've actually used these at a friend's house, and they sounded great for what they are! They don't go too loud, but they're leagues above what you said you have now... those Gateway thingies. I'd say if you're not looking for something with a sub, then these are awesome. The only other nice 2.0 set I know of is the Creative GigaWorks T20w, but those are a little more than you said you wanted to spend.
