    Alright folks,

I'm getting my laptop on Tuesday it seems. Now, personally, I don't really like notebook keyboards and I'd rather gouge out my eyeballs then use their little mouse pad. Not to mention, I have a really awesome keyboard and mouse on my desktop (Logitech G15 keyboard and G5 Mouse).

So, I'm curious as to what I could use to raise up the laptop a bit in order to see past the LCD screen on my keyboard. Sure, I could play with the screen down but that really detracts from my "leet" factor lol.

Essentially, I'm using the laptop as a full on desktop-replacement. One that I can haul around to LAN events and such. However, I'd like to keep the functionality of my peripherals.

    Any ideas?

So, no one has any idea as to if there's a riser or a stand or something which would enable me to do this?

I'm not quite sure what you mean...

You want to move the laptop up? Or put the keyboard(G15) on top of the laptop keyboard?

I want something that will hold the laptop up.

Getting a docking station is the best solution I guess.

I use a port replicator for my Thinkpad in the office and its very convenient cuz it gives me a better keyboard angle and more than that, I don't need to plug/unplug my external monitor, usb mouse, personal printer, lan cables, power cables, etc everyday.

For some ghetto engineering, cut a couple chunks of this and you're golden.

You know, I came to notebook review because I figured it was a wealth of information to the new portable-computer user.

I asked this question for recommendations, looking towards people with expirence.

Yes, google is a good source to find information, yet, what expirence does a search engine have?

Thanks for making a newbie feel welcome in your community Elminst. I'll be sure to dismiss your opinion when I see it.

    Oh, and BigV, that's hilarious.

    You asked a simple question:
    I gave a simple answer.
I'm sorry if it wasn't the answer you wanted.

The third link I posted is actually a comparative review of 5 different laptop stands. Since no one else has "answered" your question, I'd say that's a pretty good place to start.
