Here's the story, I needed a European laptop ( "mickey-mouse") adapter cable.. the one with the 3 plugs; since my notebook is American I ordered a European one of eBay, BIG mistake.
Quality sucked and it broke just at the top of where is connects to the adapter.
This within its first week of use.
Well, fine 4 euro's worth of experience; never buy small laptop accessories from Hong Kong eBayists.
( Stupid US sellers refuse to ship to EU)
I soon after ran to the local PC farmer we have here.. never bought anything from there. He tells me they have this model with lifetime warranty and is selling it for no less than €14,-.. thats like almost $20 bucks.
Since its my first notebook I dont know much about the charger etc. But it did seem a little bit pricey. So here's my Q:
Is it normal to charge such an amount of money just for the adapter-cable??
Thanks.

i think so....you can actually buy a the mickey mouse to 3 pin converter

14€ only for a cable, nothing special, 2 plugs on both ends? Yepp, that's too much.
Especially as the "input" is normed as far as I am aware... try any electronics shop - audio too, doesn't have to be a computer shop, bring the power brick along and see if it fits
Take the cheapest you find.
Adapters - they often miss earth contacts... the UK to Europe (Sane Continental Europe) ones often do...
Its near impossible to get earthed ones.. and the few that are around disappear too...
Why does the UK have the wrong kind of plug anyway?
But on that cheap cable - if its just the "socket side" that broke, go to a DIY store like B&Q (expensive one) and buy just the plug.
Cut the cable, oben the plug, connect them, close the plug, done -
You have it wrong. We have the right kind of plugs

64 Million people in the UK, over 240 Million in the rest of the EU (that excluded non EU EEA states and non EEA states in Europe) -
Nuke the seller on eBay for ripping you off.
Did I get ripped off?
