Hey everybody, I'm looking to get a digital photo frame as a gift for my girlfriend. I'm looking not to spend more than $100 and have been looking at these two: Kodak and Coby. A 7" or 8" screen is preferable.
Do you guys have any recommendations? Thoughts?
Thanks in advance![]()

If you were going with either of the two..I think the Coby is really nice.
The framing is really classy, yet dainty at the same time
It has a nice MP3 player too!
And, it looks like it would work really easily!
Did you see this 7" by Coby?

just a precaution, low res frames look well not so good, and I have heard some good stuff about Kodak
not sure about Colby though, maybe someone that has one can give you a better idea
maybe check this out

Looks like this Kodak has pretty bad resolution
480 x 234

I second Cin's pick =) -
I’ve seen the Transcend 720 in person, screen looks pretty good, has a resolution of 800x480 (widescreen aspect ratio) and loaded with extras : FM Radio, MP3 and video player supporting (MP3, WMA, WAV, MPEG1-4,AVI, MOV, MPG, MP4, 3GP), Alarm Clock with calender, Multiple card reader with USB support, built-in 2GB memory, built-in speakers with a headphone jack for personal listening, and comes with a remote.
Only downside is that it doesn’t look like a conventional picture frame, not sure a girl will like the style. Currently sold on_Amazon for $108. I think that is a pretty good price given all those features.. -
She will like it!
And, the price point(s) are where you want them to be at (even less)
I've always thought they were pretty cool.

I have a Coby its ok, but digital photo frames are a big ripoff, $100 for a 7" low res frame when you can spend $200 for a full fledged $20 PC monitor
Infact I saw a PC monitor the other day that has card inputs on it so it could be used as a digital photo frame, would have been a good alternative for me
If you want nice/expensive: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=DPG801BK-DT&cpc=SCH
If you want cheaper: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=BLK-XPFM-MZK&cpc=SCH
Also dont get from buy.com they are not really a good store, they screwed me out of my parents chrimas present this year, and they have pretty bad reseller ratings.
If you want a similar store try ecost.com, I found geeks.com to be pretty cheap too thats where the two above are from. Also dont forget your big etailors like newegg and frys, they often have cheaper prices just because of there volume of sales. -
too bad it wont be less than $100 -
Adding a small circuit for displaying photos and a card reader shouldn't cost more than $5 for a LCD manufacturer. -

or an EEE Box
Also note my typo meant to say $200 for 20"
Thats because I was looking at cheap 20" monitors the other day to do a triple monitor surround gaming setup
I really did see something much better than the frame that I wish I had known about. One thing was a monitor that had this function, but the other thing I forget. I wanna say it was just a rca hook up for a tv or something. It was a cheaper better solution and if I remember what it was I will post back.
