I love these keyboards - the X4 and the X6, but I've had two near-identical pieces of misfortune strike me with these, losing all the new ones I was hoarding because I either threw them out or included them in a palette of PC's I sold by mistake.

So the ones still I have in use are not looking too good. Still works better / causes less hand strain than any mechanical I've ever used, but most of the vowels are solid blobs of light for example. I *really* need new ones, but I can't buy any in Europe anymore (and I need a UK English layout since I could never get used to US English).

Scissors don't work for this all-purpose role, as for gaming they're rarely more than 3KRO (if there is a 6KRO scissor, I will look into it). Full travel domes are out - in that case I'd rather have e.g. a Cherry red. I have any number of Cherry, ALPS and Topre mechs lying around but in my opinion they're hugely inferior to the Sidewinders for all-round use, so no mech recommendations please.

I was actually looking to buy a Sidewinder X6, but couldn't find one anywhere local or online in decent condition. I ended up buying a Logitech G19 and I love it so far, it's really solid to type on and overall build quality is amazing. If you don't want the huge screen but same build quality, there is the Logitech G510, and no screen at all is the G110.

Logitech full-travel keyboards are not as good - including the G19. I find them a lot more prone to binding after a surprisingly little amount of wear.

I have a Sidewinder X6 I'm not using any more if you want to buy it.
