I don't mind the lack of a windows key i just love the damn keyboards. Will they work on WIndows based machines?
-
Yes, they should, since they are based on USB. People on Apple's online store said they got it for their PC's as well
Quote from a PC user: -
I think Apple's keyboard need silver which Apple put in Mac Os to work. It will not work in windows. I asked a guy at Frys and he said so. I'm not sure u can try it and tell me i so want apple keyboard for my comp too ^^
-
Only the media controls (play, pause, volume, etc.) and the controls designed for features unique to OS X (Expose, Spaces, brightness controls) won't work.
-
oh get it thank u +rep i will buy it tmr ^^
-
Aye thanks indeed. All i want is the basic controls. Iv'e yet to find a windows Keyboard chicklet style to match the quality build of apples KB.
-
There should be a keyboard driver in Bootcamp installation. Might be able to get the media keys working,
-
Yes it will, and it's a nice keyboard, I love it.
-
I just checked out the bluetooth one; would that work on Vista?
-
Apparently so. From a review on the Apple Store
-
Is this keyboard better than the thinkpad keyboard?
-
Could you post a link to the Thinkpad keyboard or are you referring to their laptop based keyboards?
-
if you have the money to spend on an apple keyboard, pick a gaming keyboard for similar/less price and get on with it, look is nothing dude, especially for only a keyboard
-
Could you give a source of a bluetooth gaming keyboard with the same/similar price?

RainMotorsports Formerly ClutchX2
For future reference to all this, remember any apple accessory that has a windows driver for boot camp should also work on PC, just need a friend to send the driver over.
Doesnt seem to be a problem with this one though. -

Also called as UltraNav keyboard.
Is the Apple keyboard better than this keyboard or any thinkpad laptop keyboard? -
We're both ThinkPad users. You should know by now that the answer for us is obviously "no."
-
It is diffucult to compare the two as the typing feel is so different.
-
gaming = no BT i am surprised you can put those two words together, nor the OP was talking about BT keyboard there

RainMotorsports Formerly ClutchX2
I think that poster was asking for his own reference. It appears to be purely a question lol, not a response of any sort. -
Neither was the OP asking how to spend his money and to "get on with it". lol.
Anyways, after reading many of it's reviews, (the bluetooth) one doesn't seem worth it to me as it has many disconnects which would be too troublesome having to constantly stop whatever it is that you're doing.
Do the new Apple Aluminum Keyboards work on Windows PC's?
