I was at Best Buy today looking at mice, and none of them said anything about bluetooth, all said 2.4 ghz wireless. We're talking the same thing right? BT is 2.4 ghz wireless correct? Is there a reason they do this?

2.4 GHz doesn't necessarily mean bluetooth, though Bluetooth runs on a 2.4 GHz spectrum. This means you will still have to use the provided dongle with 2.4 GHz mouses and keyboards.

The reason you got confused is because you can count ALL available bluetooth mice on one hand. its seriously ridiculous.

in a nutshell, BT is BT, it will say it on the box, it runs on the 2.4ghz freq, but the similarity stops there.

you at best buy off the top of my head, they should have the Apple mighty mouse, which is my current favorite mouse. the microsoft oresenter 8000 which is a BIG time piece of crapola, thank god i bough it at best buy and not newegg. i took it back the next day.

Yeah, the status of bluetooth mice is pretty sad. Among the ones mentioned, there's the V270 from Logitech, a mini mouse from Kensington, and Best Buy's Rocketfish keyboard and mouse set. Everything else is a brand I've never heard of.

I agree totally with aphexacid... "BT is BT, it will say it on the box".

I've got a Logitech V270 and it is compact, responsive and reliable. No extra dongle needed (if your lappy has built in BT) and it is very easy on batteries.

So do cordless phones and microwaves. The 2.4 GHz spectrum is pretty crowded.
