Problem is mouse doesn't have programmable buttons.

I want to put a laptop on a tray or table next to the bathtub and not have to wipe my hand everytime I want to use the mouse and keyboard. In terms of the laptop, are there products that are truly water resistant but have a good large screen?

Realistically if you have a laptop next to a hot but not steaming bathtub what are the most likely causes of danger?

This is the weirdest request I've ever heard on this forum.

Why do you need a mouse with programmable buttons?

    Your options are:
    1) Buy the waterproof mouse / keyboard combo you listed. Deal with the fact that you have non-programmable mouse buttons.
    2) Or, buy a waterproof keyboard, and a separate non-waterproof wireless mouse with programmable buttons. And just be very careful with that mouse.
    3) Forget PC gaming, and get yourself a waterproof smartphone instead (e.g. Samsung Galaxy S5, Sony Experia Z3). Do whatever web browsing, media-watching, and/or gaming you need to do on that device.

You're not going to find a waterproof / water-resistant laptop unless you buy a ruggedized laptop. And you don't want those. They are very heavy, expensive, and slow compared to your typical laptop.
