Do have a hard aluminum carrying case? Do you like it and what brand name is it? Thanks.

I don't, I prefer the Pelican; however, the "gold standard" for aluminum cases is Zero Halliburton.

Are you looking at those aluminum cases because you think they'll be strong?

No. I like the look of them and I've always wanted an aluminum/hard case. I also feel my notebook would be safer in a hard case rather than a duffelbag/brief case style one.

PCP, thanks for that link! You just saved me about $150. I bring my lappy to work with me in a black nylon bag, and after a year it's starting to look kind of sloppy. I've had my eye on a $200 aluminum case, but some of those on the New Egg site look almost as good, and at a huge cut in price.

The good thing about a nylon bag is I can stuff a bit more into it if I need to. With a hard case I'll just need to make sure that the one I get is big enough that it will hold all of my crap, including the power brick and possibly a universal battery.
