Do you use a laptop skin on the cover?

Just curious, I am thinking about one, to protect the lappy from accidental scratches and what not. Also wondering if any of you guys use keyboard protectors, like from Protect Covers because I am really worried about accidental spillage. What solutions do you use to protect your investment?

If you are something you is concerned because you know of the treatment the machine will get, all the little rough and maybe tumbles then yes $15 or so is a neat investment if you plan on keeping your machine in good condition. I personally don't use anything as It mainly stays on my desk, but If I'm taking it too school, it will be in a sleeve.

I have an autistic teenage boy who is what prompts me to go to these lengths to do what I can to protect the laptop from spillage and the cover from scratching. It's rough, but we manage. :) So you have a case/sleeve, that's cool, I'd get one of those too. ;)

You could always go down the path of having an external keyboard and mouse so that the laptop itself isn't actually being messed around with. That would be your best protection, but of course means more expenses, more effort and less space.

I am going to have a external mouse, but hadn't thought about a external keyboard. Might be worth considering...thanks for the idea roastedpork. :)

I personally don't use the cover, but only because I never get around to it.
And, roastedpork, what's the point of buying an external keyboard for a laptop? Mouse - yes, that's much faster to work with it.

Because the laptop would not need to be in front on the child, therefore limits the capability of his outbreaks or clumsy behavior, what would you rather, a broken external keyboard worth $25-50 or a laptop worth $xxx/xxxx?

Yeah my son is autistic and that would be why I wouldn't want him to break the laptop keyboard. I went ahead since originally posting this and bought a dell mini 1018. So I know what skin I want, its a cool leopard print one. I bought a rooCase for it already and it will be here hopefully this Thursday. :)
