So, I recently ordered my P170EM and I was wondering if it is possible to use a docking setup without seriously delaying different devices such as mouse, keyboard and monitor. Toshiba recently released the Dynadock USB 3.0 and I was interested in setting something up using this device. Here is a brief features list from Toshibas website,

    Features:
    • One simple USB 3.0 cable connection from your laptop to all your accessories
    • Built-in video card supports two displays up to 2048 x 1152 resolution
    • HDMI™ out port built-in for Full 1080 HD video and gaming
    • 5.1 channel surround sound through HDMI™ or 3.5mm audio ports
    • Six USB ports
    • Two easy access front USB 3.0 “always on” Sleep & Charge ports
    • Fast USB 3.0 data transfer speed to USB 3.0 external storage devices
    • Universal compatibility with all Windows®-based computers

I watched someones setup on youtube ( HERE ) and it seemed decent; very nice connect time, no need to wait for everything to connect. I was wondering how this "built-in video card" would interfere with the HD 7970 if at all. I don't want to have the ability to connect everything at ease and sacrifice latency. We all stress 2ms response times on monitors, 1000MHz polling on mice, etc and it would be a shame to see it slow things down. So does anyone know if there would be any video or peripheral delay? Thanks for any advice you may have !

I may have just dug up my own answer but I read this review on Toshiba's website.

So I imagine the build-in video card does interfere with gaming. Anyone know anything that might disprove this or support it? Thanks!

It is a USB connected video card just for 2D stuff. I think that kind of proves it right there that it can't be used for gaming.
